MEET Gustavo

Gustavo “Gus” Flores was born and raised in Dixon, California, a small rural town with deep roots in agriculture, ranch life, and family. He grew up participating in rodeos, football games, and martial arts tournaments. At the age of 13 he started his first job as an agricultural equipment operator harvesting alfalfa. From an early age Gustavo saw the value of hard work and business. He quickly realized that one day he would grow up to become a business owner and entrepreneur. At age 17, Gustavo Flores joined the U.S. Marine Corps. He served during the 9/11 era from 1999-2004. He participated in Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). By the age of 19 and while in the military, he purchased his first investment property in Yuma, AZ. This is where his passion for construction started.

After his military service, he worked for a large home builder in Scottsdale, Arizona. During this time as a construction superintendent, he gained the necessary experience and basic construction skills to qualify for his general contractor's license. In 2006, Gustavo originally started Amber Stone Construction as a painting and drywall company. He eventually found his niche and turned Amber Stone Construction into a full service residential & commercial remodeling construction company. Amber Stone Construction is now approaching 20 years in business.

While building Amber Stone Construction, Gustavo earned his bachelor's degree in business administration and management from the University of Phoenix. He later enrolled into law school and earned his Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from Arizona Summit Law formerly known as Phoenix School of Law. As a general contractor, Gustavo oversees and executes all facets of residential and commercial building projects. He is passionate about assisting his customers with their custom dream build ideas. From conception to completion Gustavo enjoys turning his customer's ideas into reality.

When he is not building houses, businesses, or motorcycles, Gustavo likes to spend his time on the golf course or hanging out with his family. He also likes to mentor young entrepreneurs and trades people interested in business and the construction industry.
